Is 30 Rocks Ending Next Year ?

Alec Baldwin can stop threatening to quit showbiz now. Because apparently, Tina Fey beat him to the punch.

The Emmy-collecting actor revealed last night that 30 Rock will enter its final season this fall, and will end its award-capturing run in 2012.

"I will tell you one thing," he told New York magazine apropos of nothing at the National Dance Institute's annual fundraising gala.

"And that is our show next year is our last years of the show. Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great."

No doubt, but Fey's people aren't commenting, and neither is NBC, though the network may be just as surprised by Baldwin's announcement as his fans—a network source tells E! News that no conversations have been had about the series ending and that "Alec was just being Alec."
