Garuda Indonesia, maskapai dengan penerapan customer value added.

PT.Garuda Indonesia yang merupakan maskapai penerbangan nomor satu di Indonesia ini, memiliki serangkaian pengujian dan pelatihan terhadap calon karyawan ataupun karyawannya itu  sendiri. PT.Garuda Indonesia merekrut karyawannya bukan hanya dari kalangan pilot saja ataupun pramugarinya saja, akan tetapi dari para kalangan teknisi ataupun ekonomi yang nantinya akan mengurusi permasalahan teknis dan keuangan PT. Garuda Indonesia itu sendiri.

Dalam hal pelatihan para karyawannya, PT. Garuda Indonesia membentuk sebuah lembaga yang disebut “Garuda Indonesia Training Center”. Lembaga pelatihan ini ditujukan untuk semua karyawan PT.Garuda Indonesia. Misal saja bagi pilot, GITC ini melakukan serangkain pelatihan mulai dari pelatihan bahasa Inggris, kelayakan penerbangan, keselamatan penerbangan, dan lain sebagainya. Untuk pelatihan bahasa Inggris saja, para pilot harus melewati beberapa tingkatan level ujian, mulai dari level 1 hingga level 6. Hal tersebut untuk memenuhi tuntutan standar bahasa Internasional yang besertifikasi ICAO. Dan dalam hal penanganan keselamatan Garuda Indonesia Training Center mengadakan symposium  “kelayakan keselamatan penerbangan (Flight Operation Safety)”. Acara tersebut diadakan bersama-sama dengan Boeing, ICAO dan Direktorat Sertifikasi & Kelayakan Udara (DSKU). Simposium yang diikuti sebanyak 43 “captain pilot” yang berasal dari 20 perusahaan penerbangan nasional tersebut, membahas materi mengenai Safety Management System(SMS), Approach and Landing Accident Reduction (ALAR) dan Threat and Error Management (TEM). Simposium ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan penerbangan Nasional. Adapun dukungan PT.Garuda Indonesia pada symposium tersebut adalah dengan menyediakan fasilitas simulator pesawat B-737-300/400 yang berada di Garuda Indonesia Training Center (GiTC), untuk digunakan peserta mempraktekan materi yang dibahas dalam symposium tersebut. Inisiatif Garuda Indonesia dalam mendukung acara tersebut adalah karena alasan agar konsep SMS dapat diaplikasikan. Implementasi konsep SMS di perusahaan penerbangan antara lain mencakup
bagaimana policy/kebijakan perusahaan (Chief Executive Officer/CEO) terhadap safety, struktur organisasi perusahaan, perencanaan dan target pengelolaan safety, metode dan perangkat safety, budaya keselamatan dalam korporat, emergency respon plan (perencanaan respon terhadap situasi darurat) dan lain-lain.

Selain pelatihan-pelatihan yang ditujukan bagi para pilot, Garuda Indonesia Training Center juga melakukan pelatihan bagi awak kabin ataupun calon awak kabin. Dalam pelatihan ini, awak kabin dapat mempelajari bagaimana cara-cara mengatasi penumpang di saat keadaan darurat, bagaimana cara melayani penumpang dengan baik, dan juga bagaimana menjadi sebuah team work yang baik.

Garuda Indonesia Traning Center juga melakukan pelatihan terhadap para teknisi Garuda Indonesia. Tujuan pelatihan bagi para teknisi ini adalah bagaimana mereka (para teknisi) dapat memelihara kondisi pesawat, dan juga bagaimana mereka dapat mengkondiskan kondisi pesawat agar  untuk diterbangkan.

Dan tidak lupa pula, Garuda Indonesia Training Center mengadakan pelatihan kepada para karyawan Garuda Indonesia dibidang keuangan. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah agar dapat membangun dan meningkatkan kualitas dan profesionalitas kinerja paara karyawannya ditandai dengan kemampuan berpikir yang baik, memiliki kemampuan berinteraksi dengan baik dan juga memiliki jiwa kepemimpinan (leadership skill).

Selain berupa pelatihan-pelatihan, Garuda Indonesia Training Center ini juga mengembangkan E-Learning. Proses pembelajaran dalam bentuk seperti ini mulai dikembangkan oleh GITC seiring dengan perkembangan Sistem Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi yang semakin pesat, kebutuhan akan suatu konsep dan mekanisme belajar mengajar berbasis teknologi informasi menjadi tak terelakkan lagi. Sehingga para peserta tidak perlu hadir ke kelas, peserta ngmasih dapat mengerjakan tugas lain yang menjadi prioritasnya, dapat belajar kapan saja dan yang lebih penting adalah biaya menjadi sangat murah dibandingkan dengan kelas konvensional.

Menurut kami, pendirian Garuda Indonesia Training Center oleh PT.Garuda Indonesia ini merupakan salah satu bentuk perhatian PT. Garuda Indonesia terhadap kualitas para staffnnya, mulai dari para pilotnya sampai kepada karyawan di bidang keuangannya. Dan adapun serangkaian pelatihan yang diadakan oleh Garuda Indonesia Training Center ini adalah upaya dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan pemberdayaan para SDM PT. Garuda Indonesia. Selain itu juga, pelatihan-pelatihan tersebut juga ditujukan agar dapat memberikan pelayanan yang baik bagi para konsumen Garuda Indonesia, dan dengan begitu PT. Garuda Indonesia dapat diterima di hati masyarakat Indonesia ataupun luar negri.

Day 3

            In day 3 , we had to wake up early in the morning.Its our last day in Bandung , because at the night , we will fly back to Surabaya.But , in the morning we were going to the Saung Udjo first.In there we will watch performance from people in there.They play a song for us using Angklung. Beside watching the performance , we also being taught by people in there how to play the angklung.I got angklung number 4 , which have the F note (Fa).They also , told us about the process of making the angklung.After finished looking in Saung Udjo , we directly went back to Jakarta Airport.But before it , we stopped in a Restaurant first to eat.Then around 6pm , we went to the Airport to wait the plane.And around 7 pm , we left jakarta.And arrived at Surabaya at 9 pm.It is an extremely fun field trip , it gaves me a lot of experiences :D.

Day 2

            In the second day , we have to wake up in the morning.At 8 am in the morning and then we directly head to the KAA museum , which is the museum about the Asia Africa conference.Its an amazing museum in Bandung , because it has many furniture / things that used in the first Asian African Conference meeting.KAA has a big hall , the hall is famously used for many important international meeting.We spent for about 1 hour in there.In te KAA museum , they also presents us The First Garuda statue , Soekarno's speech , etc.It's an interesting museum because it has many history about the Indonesian during the early years after the independence day.After the KAA museum , we went to the Geology museum .Its an interesting museum , because in Surabaya , we don't have that kinda museum , this museum has a wide range of geological stuffs.In the first room , it has many fossils , including the fossils of dinosaurs,homo erektus ,homo sapiens,and many ancient animals.The second room includes many things about Rocks , there is sedimentary rocks , igneous rocks , crystal , etc.There is also a short explanations about the process of the Rock making.Theres also explanations about the famous lime mining place in Indonesia.Geology museum is an amazing place , it explains us about the wide vary of sciences perspective and it is also a good place to study about Geology and sciences.After spending for about 2 hours in the Geology museum , then we left to the C59 distro. In C59 distro / printing process , we learn many things about clothes. They present us a short presentation about the company history .After we enjoyed the presentation , they let us to see the printing process of C59.C59 printing process is still traditional , they print the clothes not using a huge machine , but they did it manually.C59 is still a developing company , because they're still small . The business range of C59 for now is still Australia and indonesia , but they're trying to make this brand worldwide.After visiting C59 , we went to Paris Van Java mall.Its a beautiful mall , the mall is consist for about 3 levels , but its not the same with the usual mall.This mall has 1 level ground and 2 levels undergrounds.Most of us did a lot of shopping in this mall , because it is one of the biggest mall in Bandung.I did shopping too .Then after finished visiting the Paris Van Java mall , we directly went back to the Hotel to take a rest , because the next day we will fly back to Surabaya

Day 1

              After we had arrived at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, we were waiting for national students in A&W restaurant Terminal 2. We were playing cards and eating. Then, we went to visit GMF (Garuda Maintenance Flight). We observed and listened to the explanation of how to maintain a plane and observed the process. GMF is a big company. It's totally huge place. The area of that place is around 115 hectares. They have been repairing since 1949. They have got around 3000 employees. For the treatment, it needs 24 hours / one day. Their client are companies( airplane companies) such as Garuda Indonesia, Mandala, Merpati, Air Asia, etc. Their vision is to be MRAO where as their mission is to repairing the quality of airplanes and safety is the most important. Actually, the don't have any competitors for this time. They imported their materials. Apron is the place to parked the plane. GMF is divided into 3 big building. First building is a big treatment and needs 1 month. Especially for big airplanes. Second building is an usual treatment and needs 3-5 days. Third building is for airplane and needs 1 month. They focus in Asia Pacific.After visiting the Hangar , we went to the Garuda Catering service , in this place they introduced us about the catering for the aeroplanes worldwide.After we spent our time in Jakarta , we went to Lembang , the time taken to Lembang was about 4 hours then we had our dinner at the Kampung Daun . The place is so extremely beautiful , when the first time we arrived there the waiters gave us flower , and theres a small waterfall also in the restaurant.I recommend you all if you go to Lembang you must visit this kinda restaurant , because the interior design of this restaurant is beautiful.After we had our dinner in Kampung Daun , we directly went to our Hotel to rest. We arrived in our hotel in about 10' pm.
